Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Imaginis is a service operated by Reef Capital ("Reef Capital," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect through the Imaginis website at imaginis.com and the community forum at community.imaginis.com (together, the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Use.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Newsletter — the email address you submit when you subscribe.
- Contact — your name, email address, and the contents of any message you send us.
- Community account — when you register on our forum, your username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form), plus any optional profile details you add.
- Content you post — topics, replies, messages, and other content you submit to the community. This content is public.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate (city/region-level) location, collected through analytics and standard server logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see "Cookies and tracking technologies" below.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive health information about you. Please do not send us, or post in the community, health details you do not want to be processed or made public.
2. Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Essential — remembering your cookie-consent choice and display preferences (such as light or dark mode). These are stored in your browser and are required for the Site to work as you expect.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, deployed through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- Advertising — Google AdSense and its partners, to deliver and measure ads.
Your consent. When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. Until you choose "Accept," analytics and advertising storage are set to a denied / non-personalized state using Google Consent Mode. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the Site’s stored data in your browser or adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.
3. Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. The following disclosures are required for that service:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com).
- You may opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at https://www.aboutads.info/choices and, in Europe, at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.
All ads on the Site are clearly labeled "Advertisement" and are never disguised as editorial content. We do not control which specific ads appear and are not responsible for advertisers’ content, products, or practices.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to measure traffic and content performance. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data such as pages viewed, time on page, events (for example reaching reading milestones), and general location. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). For details on how Google uses data, see https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. The community forum
Our community forum at community.imaginis.com runs on Discourse. To participate, you create an account. Please note:
- Content you post is public and may be indexed by search engines. Do not post sensitive personal or health information you do not want to be public, and do not share other people’s private information.
- The forum may send you account-related and notification emails. You can manage these in your forum notification settings.
- Moderators may edit or remove content and may suspend or remove accounts under our Terms of Use.
Community content is created by users for general discussion and peer support. It is not professional medical advice. See our Terms of Use.
6. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the Site and the community forum.
- To send the newsletter you requested and to respond to your enquiries.
- To measure and improve our content and user experience.
- To display and measure advertising that helps keep our content free.
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, security issues, and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with advertisers. We share information only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run the Site, including: Google (analytics and advertising), our email/newsletter provider, our community forum platform, our hosting provider, and our content-delivery and security provider (Cloudflare). These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of Imaginis, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; forum account data and content remain until you or we remove them; analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), or to know, access, delete, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information (for example, under the California CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information.
You can exercise your choices as follows:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
- Manage forum emails and your account in your community settings.
- Opt out of personalized advertising and analytics as described in sections 3 and 4.
- Control or delete cookies through your browser settings.
- For any other request, email privacy@imaginis.com.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users and data transfers
We operate from, and store data in, the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including HTTPS encryption in transit and hashed passwords for forum accounts — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-party links and content
The Site links to and may embed third-party content and advertising. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
